Thomas Bayrle gehört zu den Pionieren computerbasierter Kunst. Sein Werk steht in unmittelbarem Bezug zum Megatrend Technological Disruption, da es die ästhetischen und gesellschaftlichen Konsequenzen des modernen Lebens und technologischer Errungenschaften reflektiert: Von der industriellen Fertigung über mediale Bildwelten bis hin zu Mobilität. Formal arbeitet er mit seriellen Wiederholungen und setzt immer gleiche Module zu großen Formen - „Superformen“, wie er sie nennt – zusammen. Damit fragt Bayrle auch, was mit dem Einzelnen in der Masse geschieht – eine Frage, die er durchaus auch politisch versteht.

Thomas Bayrle is one of the pioneers of computer-based art. His work is directly related to the megatrend of technological disruption, as it reflects the aesthetic and social consequences of modern life and technological achievements: from industrial production and media imagery to mobility. Formally, he works with serial repetitions and assembles identical modules into large forms – ‘superforms,’ as he calls them. In doing so, Bayrle also asks what happens to the individual in the masses – a question he also understands in political terms.
