Seine mit Aquarellfarbe geschaffenen Werke bezeichnet Kolod als „Aquagramme“. Hier klingt an, dass er seine Malerei als gesteuertes Experiment sieht: Kontrolliert gesetzte Formen kombiniert er mit dem gesteuerten Zufall des Farbflusses, indem er den Bildträger während des Malprozesses schräg stellt. Dies lenkt den Blick auf ein für alle innovativen Prozesse wichtiges Moment, seien sie analog oder digital: Innovatives Arbeiten braucht kontrollierte Störungen, um Routinen zu verlassen. So entsteht Neues nicht trotz, sondern wegen des Zufalls.

Kolod refers to his watercolour works as ‘aquagrams’. This suggests that he sees his painting as a controlled experiment: he combines carefully placed forms with the controlled randomness of the flow of paint by tilting the canvas during the painting process. This draws attention to an important aspect of all innovative processes, whether analogue or digital: innovative work requires controlled disruption in order to break out of routines. In this way, new things are created not in spite of chance, but because of it.
