Margit Seiler formt ihre Objekte nach Körperabgüssen. Ihren Fuß skaliert sie weit über das menschliche Maß hinaus, was ihn wie ein Relikt einer antiken Kolossalstatue wirken lässt. Der Bezug zum Megatrend Fracturing World ist unmittelbar: Margit Seilers Arbeiten zeigen Körperteile statt Körper: Füße, Waden, Hände, Torsi – Fragmente, die in unserer Vorstellung zwar auf das Ganze verweisen, aber als Teile dieses Ganzen keine Funktion mehr erfüllen. So wie ein Fuß, mag er auch noch so groß sein, allein nicht laufen kann, ist auch eine fragmentierte Welt dysfunktional.

Margit Seiler shapes her objects based on body casts. She scales her foot far beyond human proportions, making it appear like a relic of an ancient colossal statue. The connection to the megatrend Fracturing World is immediate: Margit Seiler's works show body parts instead of bodies: feet, calves, hands, torsos – fragments that refer to the whole in our imagination, but no longer fulfil any function as parts of that whole. Just as a foot, no matter how large, cannot walk on its own, a fragmented world is also dysfunctional.
