Sie übersetzt existenzielle Ängste, Gefühle latenter Bedrohung und psychische Umbruchsituationen in atmosphärisch dichte, manchmal auch mythisch aufgeladene Szenen. Immer wieder thematisiert sie das Verhältnis Mensch-Tier und schafft Mischwesen, die psychische Zustände verkörpern. Ihre Bildwelt steht damit für die mentale Seite von Social Instability.

Depicting the invisible in the visible has always been one of the main concerns of art. Christa Näher's work focuses on human beings and their inner sensitivities. She translates existential fears, feelings of latent threat and situations of psychological upheaval into atmospherically dense, sometimes mythically charged scenes. She repeatedly addresses the relationship between humans and animals, creating hybrid beings that embody psychological states. Her imagery thus represents the mental side of social instability.
