30 Jahre ist es her, dass die PwC-Vorgängergesellschaft C&L Deutsche Revision für das damalige Bürogebäude im Frankfurter Mertonviertel rund 160 Werke von 26 Kunstschaffenden der Städelschule erworben hat.

Heute wagen wir eine Revision der Sammlung im Tower185 – eine Neubetrachtung unter dem Brennglas der wichtigsten Megatrends unserer Zeit: Climate Change, Technological Disruption, Demographic Shifts, Fracturing World und Social Instabilität.

Die neu kuratierte Ausstellung setzt die Kunstwerke in Beziehung zu diesen Entwicklungen, die vor 30 Jahren kaum sicht- und spürbar waren. Es ist eindrucksvoll, wie nahtlos sie sich in die Gegenwart einreihen und belegen, dass Kunst nahezu seismographisch das aufspürt, was noch nicht konkret greifbar ist.

It has been 30 years since PwC's predecessor company, C&L Deutsche Revision, acquired around 160 works by 26 artists from the Städelschule for its former office building in Frankfurt's Mertonviertel district.

Today, we are venturing to revise the collection in TOWER185 – a new perspective under the magnifying glass of the most important megatrends of our time: climate change, technological disruption, demographic shifts, fracturing world and social instability.

The newly curated exhibition relates the artworks to these developments, which were hardly visible or noticeable 30 years ago. It is impressive how seamlessly they fit into the present and prove that art can detect what is not yet concretely tangible in an almost seismographic way.
